Bible Baptist Christian Academy was established as a ministry of Bible Baptist Church in 1979. The founder of Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Robert E. Shockley, started his ministry in York in 1958 on Arch Street. Pastor Shockley was responsible for building the facilities located at 1550 E. 11 th Avenue. This is where our school was located for many years.
Pastor Shockley served faithfully in the church and school until the Lord called him home on February 22, 1988. In October of that same year, the Lord sent Kevin E. Trout to pastor the church and administrate the school. Pastor Trout had a real love for young people and a burden to see them serve the Lord. His leadership and personal example of striving for excellence created a positive academic atmosphere for our school.
Because of the tremendous growth of Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Kevin E. Trout, a new facility was built at 4190 Susquehanna Trail North. In September of 2003, Bible Baptist Christian Academy moved to its current location.
Pastor Trout served our church, our school, and our community for 26 years and retired in 2014. In September of 2014, Bill Schutt became our senior pastor. Pastor Schutt served as our youth pastor for 14 years. He has a heart, love, and zeal for not only our church, but also for the students of Bible Baptist Christian Academy.
